Marcel is an accomplished senior executive with almost 30 years of banking experience across EMEA, Asia, and Latin America.  He has advised multinational corporates, financial institutions, and public sector clients on complex cross-border financings, treasury and investment needs, combining deep product expertise with a strong track record in delivering innovative and practical solutions.

Before joining Imani Wealth Management, Marcel was a Managing Director at Citi Bank, most recently leading Global Network Banking in the Middle-East & Africa from 2017 to 2024, based in Dubai.  He served as Industry Head Corporate Banking for Power & Utilities in EMEA from 2011 to 2017, based in London, and joined Citi in the Netherlands in 2001, where he managed some of Citi’s largest global relationships.  Marcel started his banking career with ING in 1995, holding roles across multiple geographies, including a three-year assignment in Bogotá, Colombia.

He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from RSM/Erasmus University and successfully completed the Executive Development Programme at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  Proficient in Dutch, English, Spanish, and German, and recently certified in basic Bahasa Indonesian, Marcel brings a truly international perspective and a proven track record of delivering best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide.
